Ask a Caregiver – August Tip of the Month
Real tips from our caregivers in the field
“Enjoying the Cool of the Evening”
One of our caregivers, Rochelle, shared a simple but powerful tip she uses with her clients during these warm August days: Make the most of the cooler summer evenings.
After a hot, busy day, Rochelle often helps her clients wind down with a little porch or patio time. “We’ll bring out a comfortable chair, a light blanket if needed, and maybe a glass of iced tea or lemonade,” she says. “It’s amazing how the fresh air and the soft light of the evening can lift a person’s mood.”
Even a short 15–20 minutes outside can help reduce stress, encourage gentle conversation, and create a peaceful end to the day. If going outdoors isn’t an option, Rochelle suggests opening a window to let in the evening breeze, playing some calming music, or enjoying a simple stretching routine indoors.
Caregiver Tip: Look for ways to make evenings special—watch the sunset, listen to crickets, or just sit quietly together. These small moments often become the best memories.
