Each month, we love shining a spotlight on the incredible caregivers who make Hope Senior Home Care so special. Our Caregiver Highlight is a small way to recognize the compassion, dedication, and heart our caregivers bring to their clients every day. Joyce is the second caregiver we are proud to feature in this monthly series, and her commitment to serving seniors truly reflects the values of Hope.
Joyce has been a valued member of the Hope Senior Home Care team since 2013, bringing compassion, patience, and a genuine heart for seniors to every client she serves. Her caregiving journey began long before joining Hope, as she supported her own family while caring for her mother who lived with dementia. She also gained professional experience through Lutheran Social Services, providing housekeeping and companionship services to older adults.
After retiring from Grosse Pointe Memorial Church, Joyce found herself missing the meaningful connections she had built through helping others. Encouraged by her husband and drawn to the opportunity to make a difference again, she applied to Hope Senior Home Care—and we’re grateful she did.
Over the years, Joyce has been a loyal and trusted caregiver to many Hope clients. Her calm demeanor, patience, and attentive listening have made her especially successful in caring for individuals living with dementia. Joyce has a natural ability to connect, offering reassurance, companionship, and dignity in her care.
Joyce enjoys helping clients stay active and engaged, whether that means getting out into the community or simply supporting them in maintaining their independence and daily routines. Outside of work, she treasures time with her family, enjoys “daycations” with her husband, and remains an active member of her church.
We are truly thankful for Joyce and the heart she brings to Hope Senior Home Care each day.
